UPDATED-  here's the oval racer coming together, sort of.  the everything is half done and still in a million pieces.  once we get the parts we are waiting for things should come together very fast.

here's half of the MOD 292 kawi.  the bottom end has all new bearings and seals. the piston was lightened and so was the flywheel. just waiting for the top half.  the head has already been cut and reshaped, and the cylinder still needs a little clean up work.  the carb in the picture is the one we are using.  its a tm38 flatslide that has been bored out to 41mm, and has a special rubber boot to bolt to the 292 cylinder, since the bolt pattern is less then perfect.

here's the painted bellypan.  its a combo of metal flake and gloss black and turn out pretty nice for a first time paint job.  i finished it off with two coats of clear.  this pan was less than perfect before the paint, but it does look a lot better black. i have chrome numbers for the sides that will really make it stand out.  the bumper has been chopped and drilled like the one on the 400 puma.  i was going to get rid of it all together, but the bumper is still nice to move the sled around with.

again the hood has yet to be finished, so this project is only half done.

This sled is going to be going under the knife just like the 400 puma, except we aren't stopping at anything to get this thing a super lightweight. all the creature comforts will be gone along with the huge rust colored skis. lots of lightweight ideas just waiting to be used, and with a little 292 motor, the more crap you can throw, break , hack, or cut off of it the lighter and faster it will be.

I don't know how in the world there ended up being six billion spliced wires on this, but the wiring is such a nightmare, i am just going to have to chop it all out and start over. somehow two voltage regulators and and four miles of wire were added, but it isn't hooked up to anything. weird!!

Isn't this cute. whoever the hell owned this sled before, must have had shit for brains!!!  this cobbled together excuse for a back bumper gets even stupider, when we took it off and found the original in perfect shape under it. why would you need two rear grab bars???

More shade tree mechanic work!!! instead of getting an original lynx muffler then took a panther muffler, and welded (if you could call that welding!!!) a two inch piece of pipe on it. AND!! instead of lining the outlet hole with the original, they decided it would be easier to smash a new hole into the bellypan, probably with an axe judging by the neatness of the hole!!!

looks like it sat in someones yard for a while, and they just mowed around it, until they figured out it would be easier to get rid of it all together.

Here is how it sits right now. Stripped to the bone and waiting.

My little brother has come up with a pretty cool decal design, we just need to get them made up. "THE ACE OF SPADES"  I think it looks pretty cool.
